VariAudio in Cubase 13 (at least on Windows 11 as in my case) has a pretty annoying usability bug. Here are the steps to reproduce:
Step 1: Select an audio event and enable VariAudio editing in the lower zone:
Step 2: Use your mouse to rectangle-select the VariAudio notes you want to edit:
Step 3: Click the VariAudio field you want to edit:
The bug is that this now de-selects the VariAudio notes you had selected in Step 3, which means that whatever value you’re typing in that you want to change for these selected notes does absolutely nothing, because no events are selected due to the bug!
This is apparent if you look back in the lower zone - the notes you had just selected are now not selected anymore:
Oddly enough, if you now go back and select the notes again, they stay selected and you can edit whatever parameters you want to edit, and those parameter changes actually apply to these notes.
So that’s a workaround, but it’s so annoying to select stuff, click into the field, and then have to select again. It’s an ongoing drag on productivity when doing, say, vocal tuning as part of a vocal comp session (which is tedious enough work as it is).
