Hi,
can you provide details regarding system specs and os?
Q4 came out last week - is it already registered? I’m asking since the activation process differs from other companies.
Intel i7 13700K 16 Core/24 Thread | ASUS GeForce RTX 4060
Windows 11 Home
Q4 - already registered
[update]
I can load a single instance of Q4 but not a second on another track.
However, if I alt-drag that instance to another track I do get an instance that can be manipulated separately.
[update]
I’ve just updated my graphics driver and Q4 seems to behave normally.
However, Supertone Clear still freezes Cubase (go figure)
Too many variables to hunt down. Constant saving is my answer for the moment at least…
Okay, Q4 up and running again.
Are any other plugins causing freezes apart from Supertone Clear? Have you contacted Supertone?
Is the Nvidia Studio Driver selected? Other drivers are reported to cause all sort of issues.
Which Win11 built? The latest one seems to cause all sorts of issues, there are numerous threads about it in this forum. A possible solution is to go back to the previous built if the update was just recently.
OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Home
Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti
Studio Driver
Driver version 32.0.15.6636
Sorry, I’ve not checked any other plugins for this behaviour.
Hello everyone,
I’ve also had various similar experiences with Cubase (14.0.10).
I have a project where I can’t load certain plugins. The plugin windows are either empty or, as in the case of UA’s Distressor, displayed as blurry, with no access to their functions. Occasionally, Cubase also crashes.
I wanted to create a new project and import the tracks from the old one. Simply opening the import window, selecting tracks, and then clicking cancel is enough to cause Cubase to reliably crash every time. An hourglass icon appears, which eventually disappears, but Cubase remains frozen.
I’m using a new AMD Ryzen 9 PC, with sufficient memory (Cubase memory usage is about 60%), and an NVIDIA graphics card with studio drivers and no unnecessary extras. The sporadic freezing of Cubase and the issues with some (common) plugins make working quite cumbersome. Cubase 13 ran without any issues.
I hope there are solutions for this.
I’ve tested the rest of my plugins including SSL, Softube, Neold, Izotope, Klanghelm, PSP, Streaky, Universal Audio, Waves Factory, Voxengo, Sonible, FrontDAW, Native Instruments, Hornet
The only plugin freezing Cubase are FabFilter Q4 and Supertone Clear
[UPDATE] I don’t get freezes with Q4 if i insert them on the track in the arranger page. If I insert on a channel in one of the Mixers - FREEEEEEZE…
Have you by any chance accidently downloaded and installed the 32bit VST3 version of Pro Q 4? I just remembered that they are still available for Pro Q 4. Maybe try to deinstall Pro Q4, download 64bit VST3 and give it another go?
Pro Q 4 works as it should here on Win 10 Pro. If the suggestion above does not help, you might want to contact fabfilter support.
Hi @Kilmi59
please upload some crash dumb files here in order to examine the reason for the crashes.
Definitely 64 bit VST 3
When time allows I’ll get to the dump files.
Cheers

Hi Reco,
that should be the last freezedump. Thank you for your effort.
Are your UA licenses on ilok cloud or on a dongle? If on the cloud this message usually means your internet couldn’t connect to server.
Thanks for your response.
Hmm, I checked it and yes, the cloudsession was open on my Laptop (don’t know why). I opened it on my Pc instead, now both UAConnect and ILok Cloud are open and I’m logged in. I also deactivated the diestressor license and activated it again. The result is, that in this former C13 Project the distressor gives the same reaction, it doesn’t work. UAConnect is open as well as ILok and I’m logged in on both. I closed the Project and opened a newer one (created on C14), the distressor works. Again opening the foreign project it doesen’t. (I hope my english is understandable )
Supplement: Cubase14 freezes whithout crashdump if I reset the audiointerface (Focusrite) in Cubase in this Project. In former Versions of cubase it worked without issues.
I came across this issue last night, all plugins legit, paid and updated. VST3 only. Not crash log. Just freezes until I have to use task manager to close Cubase. I reset preferences and still have an issue.
Has anyone found a fix?
My pc spec.

Gutted this is Happening as it’s rendering Cubase useless. I have spectral layers pro and Wavelab 12 that’s slo so the same with some plugins.
Mainly Fabfilter but also bass station 2 and Waves FX.
I would like to note that Ableton live 12 and FL24 which is also on my system, do not come into this issue. All plugins work fine, no crashing.
Help!
