Cubase 14.0.31 Maintenance Update

Cubase 14.0.31

What’s new?

The Cubase 14.0.31 maintenance update addresses urgent issues related to Direct Offline Processing and jog wheel functionality on remote control devices. It also introduces new MIDI Remote scripts for Novation controllers, resulting in enhanced support and compatibility.

The maintenance update is available in the Steinberg Download Assistant.

Fixes and improvements

  • Older projects using Direct Offline Processing no longer grow unexpectedly in file size when saved using the latest versions.
  • Jog wheel functionality on remote control devices like the CC121 and Mackie Control now works as expected.
  • MIDI Remote support has been extended: new scripts are now available for the Novation Launch Control XL, and existing scripts for the Launchkey MK4 series have been updated.

Is anyone else getting an installation failure? My failure occurs directly after the C++ Redistributable splash screen pops up.

UPDATE:
I must have had a corrupt installation of Visual C++ Redistributable. I uninstalled and reinstalled them, x64 & x86, and everything is working.

That is pretty common with C++ libs. The original ones are ok, but many vendors install old ones or singel dll’s and then corrupt the current version (hope this is clear), especially older plugin installers can do this.

For some reason, there are no installers available on my beta program page.

Not seeing the Launch Control XL script when updating from 14.0.30 - checked on two installations and not being added to script library.

Why would you expect a public release version to pop up in some beta area? It is in the SDA as every other update.

I can’t see them as well.

Usually every tiny update installer was available on beta page, hence my post.
Or am I missing something?

Is there any reason to install this update if you are not affected by any of the issues fixed in the three bulletpoints?

Best,

Magnus

If everything works for you I’d go with “never touch a running system”.

My thought too. Thank you for confirming.

In my case, they said that 0.30 fixed one of the problems, which really affects me (there are already one or two threads about it). The fact is that the problem is still there. 0.31 doesn’t fix it either, not by a long shot.

We learned about one unlisted fix (VST3 Note ID). Maybe there is more?

Ok, interesting. What issue is the fix related to? Vst3 note ID doesn’t mean anything to me.

Magnus

It is for Serum 2, which afaik is the first VSTi that uses this VST3 option (bug caused hanging notes). But also be sure you don’t use DOP if you don’t want to update, that fixed bug was pretty important ( * Older projects using Direct Offline Processing no longer grow unexpectedly in file size when saved using the latest versions.).
There was a simmilar bug with NI battery on the NI side and it causes enormous growth, way beyond gigabytes, while the actual project only needed MB’s, don’t know how big (lol) this dop bug was.

There is a bug in dawproject export:

This version exports track volume/fader volume automation correctly. But if you reimport the just exported daw project, volume/fader automation is lost. Panning and vsti parameters automations seem to work correctly.

Pleasd add better zoom in/zoom out support for 1080 and 1440p.
On 100% or heck even -50% scaling it still looks like im wearing +20/+20 glasses. Its so big and huge..

I wouldn’t rush from 14.x to a brand new version 15.0. But this here is only a maintenance update, 14.0.30 to 14.0.31. I don’t see a plausible reason not to get it.
