When do we get the Cubase 14 Pro pdf manual? I only saw the LE version in the downloads.

A post was split to a new topic: Msg from aleque

This is what 13 should have been.

Just explored the new auto saves folder - saves renamed roughly on what function was being performed at the time.

Wowzer … very helpful indeed.

100% agree.

I may put plenty of bug reports (messy because I’m not doing paid QA  ) but oh my, I’m so happy with C14’s new features. This upgrade is for me the best software :gift: this year.
It’s so much fun to use Drum Machine and Pattern Events. I just realized that I can add other parameters to Parameter Lane. Awesome! :100:
I was disappointed with C13 but C14 compensated it 200%

I also love the colours in the SuperVision. This is beauty (I wish to have a bit more visible shade/fill but it’s alright how it is).

I’m looking forward to the next minor (bugfixes) and major updates (maybe it’s time for ‘Analog Step Sequencer Event’ to accompany Pattern Event for the Eurorack enthusiasts

This is really unfair :')

I just wanted to say that Steinberg Cubase Pro v14 is the first exciting version in a very long time. This version is a step forward towards restoring my enthusiasm and optimism towards the future development of Cubase.
I am hopeful that the technical challenges of updating / re-writing legacy code and transitioning away from the elicenser licenseing system are finally being overcome.

I personally believe that the following categories are essential for the success of any DAW software:

  • Efficiency
  • Modularity
  • Flexibility
  • Customization
  • Randomization
  • Creativity
  • Stability
  • Customer Support
  • Community Interaction

If Steinberg can master these points than the sky is the limit.

Cheers

Hey everyone
I’m having some more issues I’m struggling with in the Cubase Score Editor, and would really appreciate your help:

  1. How can I remove bar numbers entirely, or choose only specific bar numbers to display?
  2. I’m having trouble with positioning elements in the editor, like the “D.C.” symbol, which only appears above the staff, but I need it below. How can I change its position? It seems like something is locked, but I’m not sure how to unlock it.
  3. Is there a way to add a frame around text? For example, to highlight letters at the beginning of each section.
Thanks in advance for the help!

macOS Sequoia - the installer gives an error, won’t even install a trial. Anyone had luck with it?

No problems on macOS Sequoia here (M1 Max).

Must be something on my end then. The Steinberg Download Assistant simply refuses to run. I tried the Fonts hack found on this forum, but no luck too.

Wanted to add, that this was probably one of the smoothest and stable transitions from one Cubase version to the next. Well done Steinberg, I am really impressed!
Everything works so far and the improvements are welcome.

Just to be clear: heavy Cubase user here and more of a mixing/mastering guy. Stability, workflow improvements and efficiency are what I am looking for in a DAW.
(Cannot speak about the drum machine/modular stuff, as I don’t use that at all)

Yeah same here (also running Sequoia 15.1).

Just like going from 11->12->13, I just picked up where I left off and got to work.

I disagree, but only in the sense that it was clear that Steinberg had some fundamental legwork (Windows and hub redesign, among other things) to do before they could move on.
I consider V13 to be the ‘springboard’ upon which the various new features are being delivered. It wasn’t the greatest release ever from a user point of view, but I get why they did it.
And now Cubase V14 is pretty impressive, and I have the feeling that the gates are wide open for more interesting developments in V15 onwards.

OK. Way too many posts here, but I have to write another one. I started in Cakewalk 2.0 DOS (1988) and the scoring editor was the only way to enter MIDI. I had a BM in Composition and a BS in Computer Science (ha ha ). So computers and music were my true joy. Since I never learned the ‘new’ piano scroll (i.e. key editor), I spent decades entering MIDI through the score editor. When Gibson customers became Bandlab ‘products’, I switched to Cubase 9.5 because of it’s MIDI features. Around that time (2018), I fell in love with Dorico. I tried and re-tried several times over the years to use the Cubase score editor but my brain failed me. So I wrote in Dorico and translated MIDI or XML to Cubase. I also finally learned how to use a key editor and used that to write/produce when I was too lazy to score.

WOW! Cubase 14 has enabled me to go back to my decades-old work-flow of entering MIDI with the score editor. It took me 2 days to learn the differences (Dorico vs CB14) and now my productivity has increased 200%. The added benefit is that my 3 yr-old laptop is performing better ( almost went to reaper at CB 11)

Thank you Steinberg team for my favorite of the last 4 upgrades.

(the above opinions are my own. Your mileage may very.)
