  • Remove the whole folder
  • Remove all other Cubase X_64 folders.
  • Start Cubase

I solved it! It’s definitely a BUG! pls report to the Steinberg developer.

It’s simple, I just changed the language to English. I’m currently using the Chinese version. There must be a bad code writer. Why I’m saying that? Because of the following screenshot:

You see? Even if I changed it to the English version, the part marked by red still shows Chinese characters. I’m not sure if this is the root cause, but it is definitely a BUG.
So in summary there are 2 BUGs:

  1. In Cubase 14 Artist, if the language is set to Chinese, manually scanning VST will cause an APP Crash. This can be solved by changing the language to English.
  2. Even if you changed the language to English, the VST plugins manager still shows Chinese characters on some parts. Not sure if this is the root cause of the above one.
