Cubase 14 crashes when an instrument track using Korg Opsix Native is created

Curiously the same type of track with Opsix was working under Cubase 12 and 13.
Curiously Cubase does not become unstable after inserting the track and adding midi, it crashes on the next opening of project. The only solution I found was to uninstall OPsix Native from W11 and then the project accepted to start and remove the OpSix Track.
Wavestate and Modwave Natives from Korg are still working ok with Cubase.
May be because OPsix is built by a Japonese team in Korg and its brothers by the US team ?
This has always seemed to me as a potential problem inside Korg. Even the duplicated cost is strange.
But I have plenty of custom presets based on OPsix….and it would be a long process to migrate all this to HALion.
Any one with a solution ?

Hi,

Please, attach the *.ips/*.dmp file(s), so we can see where exactly the crash happens.

Mac: macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).
Win: %userprofile%/Documents/Steinberg/Crash Dumps

Martin,
As soon as I get back to my w11 PC, later today, I will search for it.
I think I have checked the send to Steinberg on the restart on incident screen of Cubase. But will try to find it and push here.
Thanks

Hi Martin,
Any feedback from Steinberg on this ?
Thanks

Hi,

One of the crash is in the opsix_native plug-in.

Other crash is on to the Windows WDM MIDI driver side. Please, enable WinRT MIDI Driver type in the Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Ports Setup.

I activated it, redid all the mappings in my project, just to discover that my MIOXL was no more working in Cubase (14 Pro) .
Midi is sent Ok from midi out of a midi track to a DAW port of MIOXL (as before), routed in MIOXL and sent back to Cubase (I trace it in MIOXL) but, even with correct input mapping to MIOXL port, it did not reach the instruments ???
So I reverted, remapped all (!) and it works again.
What a mess this winRT driver.
