I’ve got some Cubase14 projects where I just can’t disable tracks - it immediately results in a crash.
Anyone else getting this? - Seems to be related to particular projects.

Hi,
Attach the *.ips/dmp file, please.
Mac: macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).
Win: %userprofile%/Documents/Steinberg/Crash Dumps
Here it is
Cubase 14-2025-01-22-131034.ips (138.0 KB)
Hi,
Reported to Steinberg. Thank you.
Hi guys!
I also get crashes when disabling tracks. Using Cubase Pro 14.0.20.
Here’s the latest crash report:
Cubase 14-2025-05-22-170748.ips (365.3 KB)
If you change the input of the audio track to no input you don’t get the crash.
Hi @Manike, @LasseTurunen,
As we cannot reproduce this crash so far, would you mind sharing a project, please?
You can remove all Audio Events. If you can reproduce it with only one Track, keep just this one Track, please.
Could you also share your Cubase preferences folder, please?
Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% \Steinberg\Cubase X_64
Where the X is the Cubase version (for example, 14).
You can share all these via Private Message to me. Thank you!
Canyou always replicate the crash? Or just with a specific project?
I got chatgpt to have a look at the crash reports and it also looked through this forum and it came to the conclusion that it was Steinberg Hardware related - I use an AXR4U.
It referenced another post I think and said to set the audio tracks to no input.
If I don’t have the audio tracks set to no input the project always crashes even if it’s a new project with only one audio track.
Yesterday I also looked into this further, and came to a similar conclusion. When my project crashes, it’s when I use my home studio interface, which is a Steinberg UR22C. I happened to have my live use interface RME UCX II with me, and with that I get no crashes on the same project. Plug UR22C back in → crash when disabling tracks comes back.
It doesn’t always crash, but like 50% of the time yes. Maybe something to do with Yamaha’s driver? I’m using the latest firmware, and the latest version of dspMixFX.
And Martin, yes, I can share the project later this weekend!
