Cubase 14, inputs all there but nothing recording

Hi, I’ve been recording some excerpts for a short film on Cubase 14 (on the free trial). 2 days ago, it was all going swimmingly but today no sound is recording. All the inputs and outputs are all what they should be and as they were 2 days ago.
I can hear the audio for the film great. I can see that my audio box (a Minifuse) is registering the sound from it’s light and the Minifuse control centre showing the gain from any sounds I make. I’ve connected the right audio inputs and outputs, even disconnected and tried them with a different socket, then putting it back again.
When I go to record a track on Cubase, the gain in the Channel box to the left is showing nothing, and no sound is recorded. Just a flat wav file.
Earlier today I saved the project, disconnected everything, quit Cubase, came back a few hours later, still the same problem.
What’s going on?

Has a windows update (or you) disabled mic access for desktop apps perhaps? Check it’s turned on and Cubase 14 is in the list.
If that’s not it post some screencaps of audio connections and your audio track showing the input selected (in the inspector)

Thanks for responding so quickly, I appreciate it.
Yes, the mic is accessible to Cubase and says ‘currently in use’.
Here is the studio setup and also on the left in the inspector on the left:

This is showing the input info on the inspector:

Also the audio input connections:

Why are you using the steinberg asio driver? Does your interface not have its own asio driver? If not then I suggest using asio4all or get an interface with asio drivers.

Yep. Select the arturia asio driver and see if that helps.

Yes it’s working now! The Steinberg driver had been doing fine before though… odd but never mind I guess
Thank you both!

Why were you using the Cubase driver in the first place? Always best to use the dedicated drivers which are written for the interface rather than a generic driver.

At least you have it working now.
