Just a heads up, I’ve been able to implement this using Blue Cat Remote Control plugin to remotely modulate external hardware CC.
- Create your external instrument track.
- Add Remote Control Plugin as an Insert
- Set the input on the instrument track to be the remote control plugin
- Configure the plugin to send midi CC on a ‘knob’ control, on the correct MIDI channel for your hardware
- Configure the modulator to control the insert plugin, selecting the correct control that you configured earlier.
It’s not clean, but I’ve got LFO controlled filter sweeps of my Hydrasynth going right now using the modulator using this method. The plugin is relatively cheap and there’s a demo on Blue Cat’s website to try it out first.
Hopefully Steinberg will be fixing this in future releases.
