Interesting. I’m not at Cubase right now.
Omnisphere needs you to enable automation for a control right? Maybe this means the knob itself doesn’t connect to automation.
Try switching to the generic VST gui and learn from there?
(from GIS:)
Just verifying you’re spot-on. Enable host automation and then “Learn” the automation parameter to the control:
Thanks a lot for your help! It works now.
You may consider marking @Kearley’s post as “Solution” so that others can easily find it in a search.
Did it
If anyone is looking to do this via Omnisphere in VePro, there is one more step. After setting “enable host automation” on your selected parameter, select “Show Automation Mapping” in VePro from the icons at the top (the icon with A and little paragraph lines, or hit F5). In the popup on the right, select from the dropdown Omnisphere 1>>Omnisphere>>[your parameter here]. Then it should show up in the modulator menu in Cubase.
It works almost in the same way in Halion (Sonic). If you load an instrument into Halion (Sonic) you need to assign the desired parameter to one of Halion’s automation slots. Cubase can then automate that slot.
