Hey Johnny, yes both tools had their own selections but the range selection tool by itself have two selections ranges, A and B.
And often when I switch from the selection tool to the range selection tool, the range selection jumps to an older selection on another track, where I set them earlier, because the range selection tool toggle between A and B.
if my explanation isn’t clear I can make a short video clip regarding this behavior.
I am not aware of this. My Cubase Range Tool has only one selection. Can you make screenshots or a video demonstrating this, please? Maybe I simply misunderstand.
There is a chance to have two different ranges if you use a divided track list, though. The upper area can have one independent of the lower area.
Here is a clip I’ve made regarding this topic.
There you can see that the selection could be on two different tracks. Often when im working fast and zoom into events the actual range selection is still on a different spot. When switching tools via key 1 and 2 the focus jumps back to the last selection spot which is unfortunately on another track.
This is a Nuendo exclusive feature, which is not present in Cubase.
May I advise you use the Nuendo forum for your specific topic?
Didn’t knew that its only in Nuendo, my bad. I will post this question on the other forum then.

This is not only affecting editing, it’s also affecting mixing.
I always use the loop function in the automation window. If the selection stays where it was, it writes the automation in the range even if the cursor is not inside…
