Cubase 14 on a new windows account can't find third party vst's

I hav created a new administrator account on my studio computer in order to solve problems. But on my new account, cubase can’t find third party plugins. I can see the vst3 folder and the Waves folder (I have waves ultimate) from this new account but cubase seems totaly blind to it. And the “add new directory” function isn’ there anymore?!

All VST3 plugins reside in the same directory per default. VST2 plugins need to be granted an explicit permission to be run on Cubase 14. Have you checked the VST box at the very buttom of your Studio/VST-Plugin Manager?

Hi! Thank you. Yes, I tried that but it only dugg up some old stuff that I don’t use. I’ve also tried copying my “Cubase_14_64” directory from appdata roaming from my old account to the new. That made cubase display my “recent” projects on startup. But none of my waves, ssl or uad vsts.

Last year, I read somewhere that this helped after creating a new admin account:

Try to copy and remove everything but the Steinberg folder from your VST3 folder and restart Cubase. Put everything back in its former place and restart again. Maybe this works for you, too?

Thank you! This seems to have solved the problem; When I restarted cubase it scanned for vst3 plugins for the first time. But for some reason, my earlier attemts to help cubase by adding the VST3 folders to the VST2 directory, made cubase shout out: “… have been added to the block-list. They are not a valid VST2 plug-in” Anyways it all seem to work now. Thank you so much!

Done! Can it be that I’ve created an account not being a windows account?

You can check on Windows and change the current User. There will be a list of all profiles you created.
