I just upgraded from qubase 13 to 14. and can see that some of my vst plugins are no longer there. I have activated "Enable VST 2 Plug-ins "
More specific its my old StudioEQ and Roomworks.
StudioEQ and Roomworks are both VST3.7 - that explains why enabling VST2 Plugins is to no avail.
I guess you have already used the search function in your VST Plugin Manager, right?
Have you tried to start Cubase with preferences disabled? Maybe there is something off. Launch Cubase while pressing Cmd + Alt/Opt and see if they show up?
Thanks for helping, sadly non of this work.
If I go trough folders I can see the plugins under:
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 14\VST3\Cubase Plug-in Set.vst3\Contents\Resources\VST XMLs
But Plug-in manager can’t see it
Okay, this is how it is supposed to be.
Maybe the default preferences itself are corrupted. Please try this:
In order to recreate the original preferences to their default close Cubase first. Then press the Windows key + R and paste “%appdata%/steinberg”. Now, you will see a folder called “Cubase 14_64”. Rename this folder for the time being by adding an X_ as a prefix like X_Cubase 14_64 and relaunch Cubase. Cubase creates a new folder with the exact same name but with the original default settings. Does this solve the issue?
If this doesn’t work you can close Cubase again, delete the new folder, remove the X from the old folder and launch Cubase again. Everything will be back to the previous state.
Thanks.
I didn’t work, still missing Plugins
The standard Cubase plugins are in one file, a bundle:
“C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 14\VST3\Cubase Plug-in Set.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win\Cubase Plug-in Set.vst3”, so if that file exists and is not for some rare reason corrupted, Cubase should be able to load it.
Do you see the other Cubase plugins from that bundle in the plugin manager, like e.g. StudioDelay or Compressor?
hmm, My path ends here:
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 14\VST3\Cubase Plug-in Set.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win
In this folder there is a “Cubase plug-in set” <-vst plug-in file
Well the highlighted "Grungelizer"is in a different plugin set, but RoomWorksSE is there, so Roomworks should be there as well.
Could you create a “Plugin-Report” by clicking the button at the bottom of plugin manager and upload it here?
hmm I cant upload note docs??
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YLVjvM5RUKKy7Vy83yO_y_nmd-aKHgjl/view?usp=drive_link
It should be a simple .txt file.
But I cannot dwonload the google link without authentication…
Please try again
There are a lot of plugins missing compared to my Cubase 14 Pro.
Which Cubase Edition do you have? This looks like Cubase AI/LE to me. Those don’t include Studio EQ and Roomworks.
Ahh so thats the reason?
It’s cubase 14 le.
But how come i have the plugins in cubase 13 le?
I got cubase via Audient/Arc
No idea why Steinberg decided to remove those in 14. I just checked my LE 13, which I had installed somewhere, and Studio EQ and RoomWorks are definiteley there. But the Cubase 14 comparison page also doesn’t list them as available in LE:
Seems bizarre, also because people who used those in 13 now aren’t being able to load their projects correctly anymore.
I would advise you to contact the official support regarding this, with that exact argument (but don’t expect a quick answer…).
There are of course numerous free plugins out there that are often of better quality than the old Steinberg plugins (like TDR Nova for EQ for PSP Audioware’s Chamber for reverb)…
Thanks for helping me.
I’m using those plugins in all my projects, guess I have to upgrade to Elements then.
Besides that, upgrading via download manager is garbage. I get a lot of errors.
I checked the comparison page going back to Cubase 11 and Roomworks is not included in LE.
Only Roomworks SE.
So I don’t think it was removed…the mystery is how OP had it in the first place.
I’m guessing you have a higher version license so maybe what you think is LE is opening as Elements??
Good catch! I didn’t know those comparison were available anymore for older versions…
This whole Cubase LE/AI/Elements thing is a bit confusing tbh.
I have an LE license that came with some device I bought. Activation Manager rightly tells me that I have a “Cubase LE” license. I installed “Cubase LE/AI/Elements 13”, but when I start the program, the splash screen and the Menu title show “Cubase Elements”. And I have “Roomworks” in the plugin manager.
I don’t know that to make of this. I never bought an Elements license.
I cannot install 14 LE, because afaik all Cubase versions now are the same installation package, with just the license deciding what feature set you get.
Not at Steinberg but using the wayback machine.
I just updated to latest Cubase Pro version and ALL WAIS Plugins are not listed or accessible. Non-Steinberg plugins will not be available on this new versions of Cubase?
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Not sure what WAIS plugins are but maybe you are referring to 3rd party plugins in general.
Please make sure to enable vst2 plugins as they are no longer officially supported in C14.
Studio/VST PluginManager > tiny little box way down at the buttom, hard to spot.
