Cubase 14 Pre-view/listen kits in Drum Machine before loading them?

Hi there,

I’m testing Cubase 14 Pro and like it but I have a question regarding Drum Machine tracks.

Is there a way to listen the original drum kits before loading them ?

As soon as you click they are loaded, which is useless for just browsing (and listening) to them.

Same thing for the instruments : I can’t find how to just listen them.

If you have a pattern loaded and it is said to “play” you can change the presets and you can audition the preset you have chosen before loading it into the drum machine.

Is there any way to save the drum machine kit along with my own samples? Unlike Groove Agent (export samples) I can’t see this option . Thanks in advance.

You can have the kit samples in their own folders, where they are referenced by the track presets you can save.

Not quite as elegant as having the preset and the samples saved into folders in one go like in GA, but still very well useable IMO.

We really need an “audition” widget at the top of drum machine. Then a single click on each drum candidate plays the sound but doesn’t load it. Either a double-click will load it, or disabling the audition widget will load it as it does now.
Edit: Although I still have no way of knowing what the sounds are of the drum icons in the drum machine prior to loading them, most of the sounds will come from elsewhere, which I can audition with the media tab on the right.
