Based on kai25’s answer I disabled ASIO guard, otherwise we would have seen 1024, mine was set to high.

Yeah, I think I got a repro now. The video with Retrologue was quite revealing. And I need to set my system to 2048 buffer size. ASIO Guard doesn’t seem to have an impact on my system, though.
Don’t buy another CPU cooler because of this.

I’m happy as a clam with the modscripter workaround. I would mark it as a solution, hope it’s not misleading for others. What do you think?
