My Cubase 14 is stuck on checking licenses. It won’t launch for me and a widow opens saying '“We are sorry, a network problem occured. We could not contact our license servers. Make sure your computer is connected to the internet or our servers may be unavailable”. My internet is working just fine. What should I do to open Cubase?
Remove the 3rd party plugin that is trying to connect to the internet.
You can start a terminal window and type killall vstscanner which will cause the plugin to be added to the blocklist, so that it won’t be scanned on the next startup. You might need to do this a few times if it continues to hang.
We’re aware that dealing with hanging plugins is a pain point and we aim to improve this in future.
