Cubase 14 Score Editor Pencil Tool grid question

Does anyone know how to stop this insanity (screen shot) from happening? I don’t have need of the ruler in the score editor, when I’m simply plucking down notes, as with any other notation software. Just trying to put down 2 half notes in a bar.

Hi,

Please, edit the title of your post to provide at least some kind of information in the title. There could be hundreds of posts with exactly this title on the forum, which doesn’t help with searching. Thank you.

If I understand your post, you want to hide the orange ruler when changing the note position (vertically, in your case), am I right? If this is the case, it’s not possible to hide this ruler.

This orange grid allows you to see the rhythmic position of the pencil tool. It follows the quantize value set in the toolbar at the top. In the case of your screenshot that’s set to 32nd dotted notes, which is why it looks so tiny in these bars.

Thank you, I understand that it’s set to deliver the notes on the staff. I’ll change that value, and see how it works, if so. As right now, it’s splitting up larger valued notes uncontrollably, if I’m not dead on with their placement. I just assumed it should function as a notation software, but I suppose that it’s also having to compensate/double in the midi editor for “played in” notes.
