Is there a way in the score editor (C14) to force notes to show as double-flats or double-sharps?
I selected a note and looked at every available option in the inspector and I don’t see those accidental options anywhere. I’m on MacOS 14, Cubase 14.0.10.
I don’t think that was a real person, but was instead some kind of ChatGPT bot that hallucinated Cubase options that don’t exist. ChatGPT and similar AI’s have a tendency to “hallucinate” fake information - which is why I don’t use them very much.
I accidentally came across a solution, at least for double sharps (as I haven’t tried for double flats…. yet). Say for example you want a bar that has C# Bx C#…. All you need to do is make the notes C# C♮ C#, then select the C♮ and go to the menu “Score - Respell - Respell using note name below and it should display a Bx. As I said I haven’t tried it, but I assume a double flat might be possible by a similar process using “Respell using note name above”.
yes, that´s right, but don´t forget to send a prayer to heaven that the accidentals stay like you edited them, because Cubase thinks to know better what you want, and sometimes reverses your edits secretly….
