Cubase 14 suddenly crashing when I delete MIDI track

Other types of tracks delete just fine. Even in a completely new project if I add a MIDI track and then select to remove track Cubase will instantly crash. I have tried restarting with disabled preferences, disabling 3rd party plugins, disconnecting MIDI devices, etc.

OS (macOS Sequoia) and Cubase version have not changed recently. It does this even with a fresh project.

Beginning of crash report looks like:

OK I think I’ve figured out what is actually triggering these crashes, but I don’t know why. If I have the Note Expression tab of the Inspector open, it will crash, even if I haven’t actually done anything in that tab. This is 100% predictable - if I have that part of the inspector expanded, it is guaranteed to crash if I delete that MIDI track.

Doesn’t crash with C15.0.20 on Windows, but then it is a different version and a different OS.

have u installed sth or updated recently?

A couple VST’s recently, but even a fresh project (i.e. without any plugins loaded) will crash if I have Note Expression open while deleting a MIDI track. Also, even started with 3rd party plug-ins and preferences disabled, it still does this reliably.

Well, I realized I could upgrade to 15 for $70, so I just said ‘f*** it’ and went that route. So far haven’t had this issue with 15, so looks like indeed just a weird bug in 14.

Hmm, maybe unfortunately I don’t have 14 so I couldn’t test, but hey, at least now u got a newer version
