I happily opted on 07/11/24 for the Cubase 14 60 day trial - mainly because as a Nuendo 13 user we might be waiting until after Christmas for Nuendo 14.
I was a bit disturbed this morning to get a message saying my C14 trial is nearly over.
I think for Nuendo 13 users who may get their upgrade to N14 later Steinberg should hopefully allow extended use of the C14 trial anyway.
I think it is just meant as a friendly (although slightly annoying) reminder that you are still working with the trial version. “Soon” can be an hour or three weeks. And it won’t be the last reminder. Nothing to worry about, it’s just common marketing practice.
I 'm now on a free trial with the Cubase 14 Pro version until end of Jan. My question is when I’ll buy the version, will It be a new download or just an activation of the actual version in my PC? Since I’m already creating some maps for key switching and shortcut (Key commands).
Hi and welcome to the forum!
You will keep your version as is and don’t have to download it again. So you are good to go setting up your user presets - they will not be lost.
After activating, two versions will show up in your Activation Manager, though. A trial version and a newly activated version. Don’t be bothered - they refer to the same version. It’s just optics for technical reasons - it will still be the very same version you are using right now.
