Having issues opening up a older cubase session in Cubase 15.0.30. Not sure what to do. I’ve tried many different solutions mentioned online but still not opening up.
I’ve tried;
1 Opening in Safe Mode
2 .Disabling third party plugins,
Disabling preferences
Creating an empty session in 15.0.30 then launching the older session, deactivating and sometimes closing the empty session then activating the older session but it still will not open up fully. When I tried this #4 option the session did show (GUI), but when loading it still became stuck at a certain point and did not open. I tried option4 multiple times and It got stuck on loading different tracks. When I opened the session in Cubase 14 Pro the tracks that I noticed the session got stuck onion 15 pro did not have third party plugins on them. They actually had Steinberg plugins on those tracks. Not sure what the next step should be to rectify this problem.
Thanks in advance for any response that hopefully solves this issue.
If the process of loading a project gets stuck I guess it would be great to create a task memory dump of the Cubase.exe task. On Windows you can do this by opening the Windows Task Manager, go to Processes, then expand the Cubase process and right click on the Cubase.exe item. In the context menu there should be an item reading Memory Dump or Image File or something like that.
The file might get mighty big, so you might have to zip it in order to be able to attach in your message. Or use a file hoster and post the download link (unzipped file if possible).
That’s exactly what I intend to do. Just imported the 14 session into a new 15 session. It did happen before and I took this same avenue. Can’t let some inconsistency in the software slow down the process right now. I know that when we updated to 15.0.30 there was a lot of noise in the forum concerning this very same issue. I hope Steinberg puts out another update to correct whatever is causing this bug. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated.
