Cubase 15 always burning in Timecode on Video Exports

Recently upgraded to Cubase 15 and today while trying to export a video it will only export with a time code burnt in. Also it seems to add a REC timecode out of the blue.

I’ve tried toggling the “Add Timecode” option in the export popup window but to no avail.

What about in studio setup in the video area? Do you have “show timecode” UNCHECKED there?

I feel so stupid. That worked @DosWasBest . The REC timecode is an issue with my source video and nothing to do with Cubase.

Thanks for the advice.

It will be nice if you mark DosWasBest’s reply as the solution.

I still think this is a bug.

In 14 I could have ‘Show Timecode’ checked in the Video Player in Studio Setup and as long as I didn’t check ‘Add Timecode’ in the Export Video dialog, then the video player would show timecode but the exported video did not have timecode burned in. In 15, I have to turn off ‘Show Timecode’ in video to not have the timecode burned in on export.

On top of that, if I have ‘Show Timecode’ turned off in Studio Setup and check ‘Add Timecode’ in export video, then the export video does not have timecode burned in.

From what I can see, the ‘Add Timecode’ checkbox in Export Video does not have any affect.

I agree. I was unchecking “Export Timecode” in the video exporter window, and it was still showing it since it was on in Studio Setup - Video. Doesn’t make sense. One can want the timecode when working, but not when exporting to clients. What’s the point of having this option if it’s not doing what it says, because it’s bypassed by studio settings.

@Martin.Jirsak - I’d flag this if it’s not a known issue. Sorry if it is.
