Cubase 15 available now

I am sorry hear that you are jumping ship. I am considering Reaper too, since Steinberg seemingly will continue to ignore the poor core handling of Cubase (at least on Windows).

If Steinberg just could acknowledge this serious flaw and that they are prioritising correcting it and getting up to speed with current processor architecture, well, then I would just stay put. At the moment, though, it feels very much like nothing will happen in the foreseeable future, if at all…

Best,

Magnus

I still have 14 and have been using it this morning with external equipment. I may use Cubase for now like this and any heavy software or hybrid project’s I’ll use Reaper.

I’m not recording a band though just me. I understand your needs would be greater.

I’ll keep my eye on how things go with Cubase though.

so many bugs. not even trying to start counting. You need to work on existing features and start debugging. no one needs a vocal synths. no one needs more plugins. please wake up!

I found out that SPLICE IS A PROBLEM FOR CUBASE! Cubase doesn’t play very well with others. I uninstalled the Splice Bridge and Cubase has a helo on it’s head now. Works perfectly… without Splice. Sooo welcome to 2025 Cubase, it still doesn’t play nice with others.

It still doesn’t recognize you soundcard when you plug it in mid project XDXD even FL does that right. That says something.

I love the program, and wouldn’t wanne change. But instead of poughkeepsie out new versions, fix what needs fixing would be nice for a change. Put the whole team on it till it’s fixed, and then move on. Sometimes you’ve got to give to get.

The most frustrating thing for me is the autofocus bug. When I add a VST track from the right side, it doesn’t get in autofocus. So, when I start playing the keyboard, a different instrument will play or nothing at all, depending on which track was selected before. Then, I manually move to the track that I added and can play it.

C15 - a buggy warrior. I’ve never seen anything like that before. Audio quality issues are all over the place. Clicks, pops in renders. Weird behaviors, which can be hard to replicate. And even if can, Steinberg support is non-existent. Do they actually respond to bug reports? Did it even happen?

same for me, try it on 2 different systems!!!

I now understand what you were going on about. Since my last reply to you last year I got a new PC as the issues I was having were my old computer’s processor being sick. As in crashes etc.

But I now understand what you mean by the core usage. Recently I had an instance of Cherry Audio Dream Synth on the highest quality setting playing a Pad sound which took a major part of ASIO Guard up. On Reaper the usage was just over 1%. Which I would expect on my new AMD Ryzen 9 9900X processor.

I apologize for not fully understanding before. I love cubase and use it all the time plus I’ll upgrade again in the summer. But now I’ve experienced some of what you were talking about and understand the issue more.

Edit: That’s a lot of understanding on my part reading my post back

I am sorry to hear that you have experienced these issues yourself. Steinberg really need to get Cubase up to scratch with the modern processor architecture.

Unfortunately, nothing indicates that this will happen in the foreseeable future, which is rather astounding really.

I didn’t quite get it when I first read what you were explaining. None of the plugins I was using at that time made much of a hit. It was only this week when I put the quality setting to full on the previous mentioned plugin did I notice. It also seems random. I just tried it now and it was not as high as before. Still high though.

Lets hope they get on it though. I’m sure they will :crossed_fingers:

Actually, Steinberg is aware of the problems and they are on it for quite a while now as some official confirmed someplace else. Since this is a highly complex matter with many variables involved it’s impossible to provide a timeline. However, they are working on it.

Though esthetically and ergonomically unpleasing, all these Cubase core handling issues can fully functionally be compensated for by Project Lasso and Audiogridder, would that be right?

That’s good to hear I knew they would be on it.
