Hi,
How did you resolve it, please?
Hi,
How did you resolve it, please?
The problem I encountered is that due to my computer username being named in Chinese, the system document directory path contains Chinese strings, and the new version of Cubase’s Hub does not seem to support Chinese paths, so the software cannot run. I reinstalled the system and changed the local computer username to English. After reinstalling Cubase Pro 15, it can run smoothly. I’m not sure if the problem you encountered is also caused by non English strings. If so, reinstalling the system, naming the username in English, and reinstalling the software should solve the problem.
Hi,
I’m glad you sorted it out.
Do you have any *.dmp file, as Jendrik mentioned, please? This would help Steinberg to investigate and fix the original issue.
I’m very sorry, the issue was resolved after reinstalling the system, there have been no software crashes. Therefore, I’m unable to collect *. dmp files.
When the problem occurred before, I submitted it directly through the error dialog box, but I don’t know if it was submitted successfully.
Hi,
Do you still have them available, please?
Sorry, I couldn’t find it because I reinstalled the system.
We have received a few crash logs via the automated system, thanks for providing them!
I am also based in China and don’t have this issue as I only use roman letters for my paths. Using Chinese names in actual songs works fine.
Also bear in mind that some plugins may like to connect to western servers to authenticate, so you might need a VPN to use them, contact me if you need advice on those. 合作愉快 (means happy collaboration !)
Same for @liziang ask me if you need help with Cubase or with translations to English.
Thank you!
Thank you. VPN is a commonly used tool and has been in use for a long time. I am an old user of Cubase. If I encounter any other problems during the use of the new version of the software in the future, I will inevitably seek your advice. Please do not hesitate to give me guidance. Also, English. It would be great if I could get your guidance. I can’t do without translation tools now.
Hello, I’m from Brazil and my computer name is “Aurelio”, but on my appdata folder is written “Aurélio” with the accent.
I’m also having the same problem. C14 works just fine. Could it be this Accent or is another thing?
Hi,
Thank you very much for sharing the *.dmp file. Reported to Steinberg.
Hi Folks,
I believe the root cause of this NON-LAUNCH issue is the presence of non-ASCII characters in your system configuration, which suggests that Windows is using a legacy code page. This can interfere with the installation of some Unicode-based applications
In my case I did resolve the problem following these steps:
Hope it work for you guys
Enable Unicode UTF-8 Support on Windows 11
Open Settings > Time & language > Language & region.
Click Administrative language settings (under Related settings).
Go to the Administrative tab, select “Change system locale…”.
Check the box: “Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support”, click OK.
Restart your computer when prompted.
Best wishes
Aurelio
Just a note that that may break some old applications, especially older 32 bit apps, like some MIDI utilities. It may also end up corrupting some plain-text files like settings files for those apps. TBD.
I’m glad it fixes the issue, but I’m very surprised that would be needed here. If that fixed it, then I suspect Cubase is using an old single-width-character A version of the file open or save functions instead of the multibyte-character W version.

Hi,
Cubase 15.0.6 hotfix is out. This issue has been resolved in this hotfix update.
Hi Martin,
glad to hear that although this bug doesn’t concern me personally.
A question: it’s not in the release notes - again.
Since this is a regular thing I keep asking myself: Why? It’s not just the release notes but also documentation in general. Users always have to search the forum trying to put tiny pieces of the puzzle together themselves. Every time…
I am glad that this issue has been resolved, and I have installed the update.
