Does anyone have any update with regards to the windows update becoming available to rectify the MIDI issues. Currently when attempting to access the software is freezing on the “initialising midi” stage and then doesnt respond. I have previously been told a windows update would be rolled out to rectify this ?
Also not sure if anyone has experienced the same problem, but have also noticed when quitting the software, in task manager even though the software is closed an instance is still operational. When you attempt to access Cubase it then enters safe mode instead of entering the software.
Any ideas on how we go about resolving both. I have raised a support ticket but have yet to receive any guidance or response.
Indeed! I immediately made the switch to the MIDI services loopbacks, though took me a bit to get the updates applied correctly to enable MIDI 1.0 loopbacks. I still have loopmidi installed but am not using it for loopback now.
I assume you have an inMusic device of some sort (AKAI, m-audio, RANE, etc.). As others have said here, the workaround for that started rolling out at the end of last month and will be fully enabled on up-to-date PCs by the end of this month.
If you need the workaround now, it has been available as a preview on the Discord server for a couple months.
Note that those devices will still cause a lock up if you disconnect them when in use. That’s a bug in the inMusic driver that we have been unable to work around so far.
If you have a new inMusic device, like recent AKAI controllers, those are class-compliant, and so you can just uninstall the inMusic driver and use our in-box driver. That will completely eliminate any hang issues even without the workaround installed.
