Cubase 15, Q-Link doesn’t work on channel routing.
When “Option+Shift” is pressed, trying to change the channel audio routing on all channels, only one channel changes.
Seems to only affect audio IO. MIDI IO works.

Hi,
It works. You have to hold the modifiers before you click on the Output slot and keep it holding while selecting the bus.
In the past, you could hold it later (when selecting the bus).
It has been discussed here on the forum already.
Gottcha. Thank you, Martin.
Just curious what the reason was for changing Q-link behavior on audio routing while leaving others intact, such as the MIDI routing.
And any chance to change it back? Decade-old muscle memory…
Hi,
The different behaviour has been reported already. Let’s see.
Martin - C15 has also messed with Q-Links key command settings.
Prior to C15 you could toggle Q-Link via a key command from anywhere. Now, you have to have a mixer window window open and in focus for it to work!
This is a real PITA unnecessary change for those of us used to working with it this way.
Hi,
Could you give me an example, please? Do you mean the real Q-Link switch button controlled from other, but the MixConsole windows? Or do you mean the temp Shift+Alt Q-Link?
Yes - the real Q-Link button.
Assign a key command to it and try and use it to toggle its state.
Pre C15 it worked from anywhere. Now it only works if the actual button is visible in a focused window.
I thought I had the same problem this morning, as I just started using 15.
Though I think the order actually matters - must press/hold shift FIRST, then press/hold option(alt) while in the Project Window.
While in the MixConsole, the order doesn’t seem to matter and you can see the Q-Link engage whichever you start with. At least for me on mac!
It appears that the trick is pressing the Shift key first, followed by the Option/ALT key, and then making a change target to routing setting. This is how it appears to work in the Channel Settings window. Otherwise, only one channel change its output.
In both ways, Q-Link lids in a mixer, but the behavior is not the same.
I personally dislike changes in behavior in this manner, as they disrupt workflows when certain key commands no longer do what they did earlier.
Modifiers pushing order matters. My “muscle memory order” is Option first and then Shift because thumb easily hits Option first.
Edit: Trick seems to be: even Cubase 14 that function behavior is totally random. I have no time for this debugging poughkeepsiewetpaste
Just to add another Q-Link regression in Cubase 15:
Besides the audio I/O routing issue, Q-Link is also broken for enabling/disabling inserts across multiple tracks. In previous versions I could:
Select several tracks
Turn on Q-Link (or use the temp Shift+Option combo)
Open one plugin window and hit its power/enable button
All linked instances on the selected tracks would follow. In Cubase 15, that only affects the single focused instance; the other linked channels no longer respond.
So at this point Q-Link is unreliable both for audio routing and for insert enable/disable, which makes large multi-track workflows noticeably slower than in 13/14.
Hi all,
This was driving me crazy. But I figured out what was happening in my case. Cubase Pro 15 on Windows 11 here.
In Edit > Preferences > Project & Mixconsole, if you have “Sync Selection between Project Window and Mixconsole” unchecked, it will result in the shortcut for routing multiple tracks to an output not working (Alt+Shift+Click).
As soon as I checked that back on, it worked like normal. That was my issue, at least.
Cheers!
Hi!
I checked on mine but “Sync Selection between Project Window and Mixconsole” was checked. I tried uncheck and check again, but still is not working when trying to turn on the inserts (plugins) in many tracks at the same time. It works only if the inserts are bypassed, but not to turn on/off.
This is not a problem in Cubase 14, but Cubase 15.
BIG ONE for me (no way to turn off MANY plugin power buttons AT ONCE??? I have 1000 midi tracks??? Bypassing still allows CPU’s and Latency. ;(
Cubase Pro 15.0.10
Partially fixed but still not working as before.
Before, you only need to keep pressing the modifiers when clicking the desired group channel or bus.
But now you have to keep pressing the modifiers when clicking on the drop menu of the bus. Sometimes the desired group channel is hidden in folders, you can’t open a folder with the modifiers pressed. So you have to release the modifiers, open the foler, then press the modifiers again in order to change routing for all selected tracks.
