Cubase 15 - Rough Experience

Y’all, I don’t want to complain but Cubase 15 has been so frustrating. I’ve been running into so many issues. The first ones that come to mind:

• One track in one project refuses to not solo itself when I solo other tracks (and it’s not in solo defeat mode). I have to clear all solos to clear that one.
• Total audio dropouts out of nowhere. Not peaks. Not real-time processing issues. Full-on stops of the audio system.
• It now takes multiple clicks to open and THEN close an insert to be able to delete it. (Not even sure if this is a bug or intentional but I used to only need one click.)

Is anyone else dealing with these issues?
I upgraded from 12 and the stability here feels like a downgrade.

I’m on a high-end machine and it’s still messy.

Hi,

What kind of track was it? How was the routing?

What do the Performance meters say?

What exactly do you mean? Could you describe your way?

Hey, Martin!

Thanks for the reply.
I figured out the solo issue. For some reason, it’s seemingly randomly adding Mute automation to my tracks and I’m having to delete that automation. It’s done it multiple times now.

Here are photos of the audio drop outs. The second photo shows when it completely just stops randomly. It doesn’t peak. No red indicator. Just straight up turns off and then turns back on. Frequently happens at song transitions (even though those transitions/samples have already loaded before). This is with ASIO guard on high.

For insert plugins, I now have to click the insert, the plugin opens, and then click it AGAIN to close it just to be able to hit the delete key and actually have it removed. In Cubase 12, I used to be able to just click the plugin (I think without even opening it) and hit the delete key.

Hi,

Are you on Mac or Windows?

This has been noted and discussed before, sadly starting from C13, a lot of keyboard navigation features in the mix console and elsewhere have been completely removed and not brought back so far. I still hate that I am not able to move through the inserts with the cursor keys and remove them with the backspace key…

There are some alternatives for removing insert plugins, like hitting the “select insert” downward triangle on the right of the insert pane and then typing either “backspace” or “n” (for “no effect") followed by return. You can also simply drag them away, e.g. towards the top of the screen, which will also delete them.

I’m on Windows 11.

If specs matter:
Ryzen 9950X
X870e Motherboard
96GB 6400MT/S
Samsung 9100 PRO 2TB (Cubase projects are held here and some libraries)
Crucial P3 Plus 4TB (The rest of the libraries are here.)
XFX 9070 XT

Got it. Intended functionality then but just annoying. Thanks!
