As the title says, just asking anyone with it to confirm. The manual seems to say yes via a tick box, but I’m just checking it’s not just been left in from Cubase 14. I’ve got loads of VST2 hardware editors.
Tick box is still there (Well the on off button is)
Thanks for confirming <3
Don’t forget to check the VST2 box under Studio/VST Plugin-Manager.
This time you won’t have to scroll down to the very bottom like in Cubase 14. It says hello right on top of the window:

Thank god! Glad they are listening to us squeaky wheels. ![]()
Just be aware, wrt. the literal topic question, the answer is no. The feature exists, but it is officially unsupported. This has been quoted from the documentation in some other thread.
What’s important (for me at least) is if the majority of VST2 plugins still work. If they’re not officially supported, it only means no further effort or help from Steinberg to make them work.
Yeah, that’s pretty much the deal. Everything still works in vst and vst2 land in my Win11 systems…and via 3rd party solutions if ever necessary.
“Not supported” generally translates (by companies in general) into “we don’t wanna hear any questions or bellyaching about something discontinued that doesn’t work”

That’s a-ok with me. Especially when everything continues to work….which is all that counts.
An alternative is always to use a wrapper plugin like Blue Cat Patchwork or DDMF Metaplugin. If something goes wrong with it, you have somebody to complain to. That is the route I go for new sessions using my two VST2 plugins left that I don’t want to give up.
