Well as cubase 5.5.2 doesn’t sent volumes out when you open a project which is a MASSIVE bug, and it also has terrible track folding problems, I should blinking well hope so. We paid for this software, so we should at least get ONE version of it that works… Buggy as hell…

That doesn’t make a complaint invalid. Intolerance always seems to be something “someone else” is guilty of.
I do hope this doesn’t become a site where a little honest talk is ridiculed by the majority or the powerful…just my humble opinion. :wink:

I’m not saying the OP is wrong, just that what they are experiencing has not been established by the general mass of users but what is being described is at the end of the day no consequence whatsoever and quite frankly were it to occur on my system I’d not give a hoot nor would I even bring it up as an issue.

With FTP on the Steinberg site, the best you’re gonna get is Anonymous FTP. (and that is if they even have it “switched on”). Just download from the link when it magically appears.

I’m using FileZilla but wonder now if there is some program that could refresh the page (I know opera can but I’d like a non-brower app) since being such a fan of steinberg I want it the moment it comes out and not a minute after.

With your web development skills maybe you can refer me to some standalone program where I can refresh the folder directly.

I know that Phil guy makes apps for steinberg like an elicenser checker, so how about something here?

FileZilla (what I use too), has a “keepalive” function, which keeps the connection active when you’re sitting idle.
You don’t need to refresh anything, IF you are in the correct directory where they upload the updates, it will automagically appear as soon as they upload it.

But I sincerely doubt that you will be able to use FTP to get the file. (I haven’t looked through the Steinberg site to see if they offer an FTP option). Chances are, as mentioned before, IF Steinberg has anon FTP turned on, it will take you to a generic directory which might have a nondescript folder called “uploads” (a different place from where they put all their updates).

[edit]- looks like they do offer FTP in the browser. In FileZilla, the host is ftp.steinberg.net, port 21 [default]. Keep it on anonymous ftp. I have “bypassed proxy settings”, but you probably don’t need to do that.
