Not worried about what is supported; wondering if v5 or v7 can be installed on W10. Anyone with any experience here?

Well, I gave it a shot, and can confirm that C5 does indeed install and work on W10 Home.

Yep make sure you get updated installers from Steinberg though, see my previous post. I had a bit of fun installing 64bit version. Also check driver suitability for interfaces… just a heads up on that last one, I’m still looking.
