So I bought I unopened copy of Cubase 6.5 and for some reason, the software was automatically updated to Cubase 11 Pro when I activated the license in the Elicencer control center. I bought this Cubase 6.5 software so I could upgrade using an unused Cubase 7 upgrade from Cubase 6 code, but because it automatically upgraded to Cubase 11 Pro, the upgrade code is not compatible with the license. Is there any way around this?
to do what, exactly? My thinking is that you now have access to all the versions twixt 6.5 and 11.
Unactivated licenses will activate a license for current versions.
However, in this case because licensing changed from elicenser to Steinberg licencing at V12, you get the latest license that runs on elicenser C11. If you want to run C7 for some reason you can.
I will have to test if this is true, if it is, I am in luck.
Thank you for your advice. I have tested this out for myself and I’ve discovered that Cubase 7.5 indeed words when I have my Elicenser connected despite owning a License that is intended for Cubase 11 Pro.
