All customers who have bought Cubase 5 or Cubase Studio 5 between December 1, 2010 and February 28, 2011 are eligible to obtain a Grace Period update or upgrade to Cubase 6 for a special price.
You are eligible for the Grace Period update or upgrade if you have purchased one of the following products within the eligibility period above:
• Cubase 5
• Cubase 5 Update
• Cubase 5 Upgrades
• Cubase 5 (Education)
• Cubase Studio 5
• Cubase Studio 5 Update
• Cubase Studio 5 Upgrades
• Cubase Studio 5 (Education)
LE and AI versions, Cubase Essential 5, second hand or used products — regardless of purchase date — are excluded from this offer.
Please note that requests for Grace Period updates or upgrades to Cubase 6 will only be accepted until March 31, 2011.
Grace period updates or upgrades will be managed directly by Steinberg for customers from the following countries:
Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Benelux, Scandinavia, UK, Ireland, and the USA. In all other areas the Grace Period is handled by the local Steinberg distributors under the same conditions.
How to obtain an update or upgrade?
In order to obtain the update or upgrade, please email your scanned or photographed proof of purchase to Steinberg. Please make sure that the proof of purchase is legible and contains the purchase date. It’s also important that you provide a functional email address so that we can provide you with your personalized link to the Steinberg Online Shop from where you will then buy your Grace Period update or upgrade.

Once we have received your proof of purchase, we will send you a personalized link to the Steinberg Online Shop to the email address you have provided. If you bought Cubase 5, you can buy the Cubase 6 Grace Period update for 20 EUR (incl. 19 % VAT). If you bought Cubase Studio 5, you can buy the Cubase 6 Grace Period upgrade for 99 EUR (incl. 19 % VAT).
Please note that processing your application for the Grace Period update or upgrade may take up to 6 weeks, and that Steinberg cannot process illegible proofs of purchase.
