Cubase 6 punch in question

So I just upgraded to v6 from 4.

When I do my punch-ins it saves the old audio underneath but I cant see to get it to just overwrite the old audio. which leads to questions 2…

When i have several cuts how do I merge them to be one for a Fade in (for example). When i apply the fad to say 5 cuts all selected its fades each cut by itself. In v4 I didn’t need to do anything special for this.

I read through the manual and couldn’t see what I was doing wrong in this respect.

You select audio record mode “replace” from the transport bar.

Well you could just select the first event to fade in & the last to fade out…or you can use bounce selection to turn it into one audio file.
