Cubase 8.5 stopped working half way through- "No valid license found The program will now quit"

As per subject description. I tried rebooting my Windows PC and started up Cubase 8.5, but keep getting pop up error window - “No valid license found The program will now quit”

With an option to " start license activation" which I followed, but is asking to enter the long activation code. But, I can’t find it.
Can Steinberg support team send me my activation code please. ( via email?). Based on my previous history of purchasing the Cubase 8.5 product??
Thanks

Hurry up, @Googly_Smythe … typing typing typing…

The first thing to try here is to make doubly sure that the dongle is plugged in.
The second thing is to try a different socket.
Dongles can work loose after a length of time, and USB sockets have been known to just stop working.

You’d have to open a support ticket.

Ha ha! I’m just so sloooow!

I was just about to answer when I saw you were already typing. No need to go into race mode Speedy_Smythe

BTW: Eric Clapton here on the computer keyboard - call me Slowfinger

Which version of 8.5?

Activation codes can only be used one time. In the old days (pre-eLicenser shutdown), you could reactivate a Soft-eLicenser.

So … what exact version of Cubase 8.5 are we talking about here?
