Some further info…
Tried opening the project in Cubase 8.5- it works perfectly. So clearly a 9.5 issue
Does anyone have any more suggestions regarding this? Very frustrating that you get left hanging with no solution…
I had the same problem I thought, but it works fine actually.
You have to enable Live as a rewire slave in Cubase before opening Live.
If you open Live before going to “Studio-Rewire settings” to enable live, it will crash.

Now why Steinberg couldn’t communicate that to me is the the real question…
