I run elements 9.5 which works fine .
Is it safe to install 9.5 pro trial alongside elements, or will it cause problems with elicenser or when uninstalling it??

100% safe. Go to Programs and Features and save a screenshot of the Steinberg stuff you have installed. Once the trial ends, you can check the screenshot to make it easier to figure out what you should uninstall.
Indeed there should be no issues, they are completely separate installations.
FWIW, though slightly different, I have both 9.5 Pro and Elements 9 on this Laptop and have no issues when I run Elements when I don’t have the USB licenser with me.
