Cubase 9 Direct Outs

Hello. Using Cubase 9 and have groups of Background Vocals going to direct outs. Some of the direct out tabs are colored differently than the others. What does this color difference mean? Many thanks…

Terry

Hi,

There are 3 colors, showing the status:

  • Grey: The cell is disabled, so the output of the channel is not routed to this Bus.
  • Blue: The cell is enabled, so the output of the channel is routed to this Bus. But the Direct Routing (Summing Mode) is disabled for this channel. So you can route the signal to one output Bus only.
  • Green: The cell is enabled, so the output of the channel is routed to this Bus. And the Direct Routing (Summing Mode) is enabled for this channel. So you can route the signal to multiple output Buses.

Thanks Martin… some of mine are blue and some are green… how do I make them all the same color so the routing is the same for all of my channels?

Terry

Hi,

Enable or disable the Summing Mode by clicking to the Direct Routing icon in the header of the Direct Routing tab in the Project’s window Inspector.

Many thanks Martin… final question for you… How do you export tracks out of Cubase 9 to mix in another DAW so that they line up properly in the other DAW? Can’t find a way to make this happen… It’s very simple in Logic but still searching in Cubase…

Hi,

I would recommend to open a new ticket or search for Batch Export on the forum. This is part of Expert Audio Mixdown window.
