Cubase 9 Elements + mpeg2 video ????

I tried to import mpeg2 video to Cubase 9 Elements but it’s seems to be invalid format ? Is it really so ?
With old Cubase 5 that mpeg2 is working great.

mp4 video is working great but it’s terrible job to convert 2000 videos from mpeg2 to mp4.

Is there something wrong with my Cubase or do I have to start re-rendering process with all those video files ?

MPG2 compatibility was dropped with intro of QT engine in Vers 6 and C9 has another new engine due to Apple dropping WIndows support for QT.
