Cubase 9 video player : compress or not?

Hi !

can someone tell me if the video player of cubase pro 9, selecting 100% video quality, compress or not the video? (I think yes, but not sure).

I’ve to play a video in a show, with audio multitrack. So I think about the possibility of playing it directly from cubase , but it’s a HD video of 1h45 (8Go), and it need of not being compressed… So I’m afraid it’s not a good idea…

If someone can help me, THANKS A LOT

Hi,

It’s not about the player. It depends what video codec do you use for your file.

Hi, thanks for your reply !
it’s
H.264 AAC 1980*1080
mpeg-4 !

Hi,

As it is written here:

H.264 is typically used for lossy compression, although it is also possible to create truly lossless-coded regions within lossy-coded pictures or to support rare use cases for which the entire encoding is lossless.

Cubase doesn’t affect it at all. It will look exactly the same, if you will use another player.

Hi, Thanks a lot for your precious help Martin ! it’s really very helpful …!!)
