Cubase crashes after saving session

Cubase crashes every time I close a project. This is since the 9-5-21 update. I’m on the latest Mac software. I reinstalled the update just to be sure, but it is consistent that when you close a project to go open another project, Cubase crashes to the desktop. All other functions are normal. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I experience this issue too along with crashes of Komplete Kontrol. Seems like a bug I’d say.

Keep submitting those Apple (or Windows) reports. At some point, word gets back to Steinberg and they will put out a fix, hopefully.

Share the crash report here using dropbox or similar please. Reinstalling Cubase is not the preferred routine for troubleshooting.

I recently installed the latest version of Cubase Pro - 9.5.21 on an iMacPro running OS X High Sierra 10.13.4 - 10 core 3.0 GHz // 128GB RAM // It’s all vanilla, there were no older versions installed. We use Komplete Kontrol software and hardware along with our DAW and are using Antelope Audio’s Zen Studio as our audio interface.

The issue happens when I :

  1. Open Template (empty)
  2. Remove an instance of Omnisphere
  3. Save Session
  4. Cubase crashes in <30 sec and gives me the following crash report -

The crash file is not complete. I need the source crash file to be able to work with it.

But this crash seems to by in some plug-in. Which one is it you can find in crashed thread 15.

About the same time as the Cubase update, Native Instruments had an update for Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt 5. Might be worth examining those installations as well. I am doing that now.

Sorry, the crash snippet is incomplete and I can see, where does it really crash. Share the source *.crash file via Dropbox or similar, please.

From the snippet most probably the crash is in the plug-in.

Thank you for the response (apologies for not uploading the full report) - Here is a more recent crash report that was generated when Cubase crashed while trying to print audio. VST’s - Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt and Omnisphere + Audio tracks.

P.S. We noticed that sessions that had audio recorded or dragged in (without copying to folder) were the ones crashing while trying to bounce. Some sessions that were just VST’s seemed to print with no issues. This may not be pertinent to this crash report but I’m assuming the information will help nevertheless.
