Cubase crashes ater I freeze instrument track.

When I freeze the Istrument track which is longer than 5-7 minutes Cubase 9.5 crashes all the time. If I do this track length a bit shorter ( f.e. 6,5 min instead of 7min) the freeze works good.
My first thought was about lack of free space at the hard drive for the frozen files, but it’s not , because there are 270 Gb of free space and the new audio track become created at the “Freeze” folder even in case when Cubase crashes.
Is there any solution, please?

Hi and welcome,

What instrument do you use?

Could you share the crash dump (located in Documents/Steinberg/crash dumps), vi Dropbox or similar, please?

Hi. I’ve tried to freeze several different instruments and sometimes they could be frozed, but sometimes it leads to crash. There is no real dependence on the certain vst. Also there is no any dependence on lenth of track or how many tracks are in the project or how high CPU is used…

Hi,

Could you share the crash dump (located in Documents/Steinberg/crash dumps), vi Dropbox or similar, please?

Here is the last crash dumps:

Hi,

Please, share the source *.dmp file.

Do you use Cubase 6? Sorry, this is Cubase 9 forum… I can’t resolve Cubase 6 dmp file, sorry.

Cubase 6 is not officially supported anymore. In any case, I would recommend you to update to the latest Cubase 6.0.7 version.

The same thing happens in 9,5 Cubase which I use in demo mode. I thought that 9,5 update could fix the problem that I have, but the same issue continues.

In this case attach Cubase 9.5 *.dmp file, please. (See my comment above, please.)

Could you suggest me where could I found the 9.5 crash dump file? I have 6 and 9.5(demo) installed at the same computer and I have found the crash dump only for 6 (at the Documents/Steinberg/Cubase/Crash Dumps). Where could be 9.5 crash dump file located , please?

The dump files of Cubase 9.5 should be in the same folder.

Btw, Spire plug-in is mentioned in the crash dump. Could you try to remove it from your system? Or was this the plug-in you used for the frozen track, when Cubase crashed?

There is only Cubase 6 Crush Dumps file in the folder.
Here is the linke to the complete file : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WLWZ840fYd08eUsNCaayJl5H4AXmCq8t/view

The Spire or Omnisphere or Kontakt (doesn’t matter) sometimes could be frozen, but sometimes not. The same project, the same plugin ,-sometimes could be frozen, sometimes not.

As I said, I’m sorry, but I can’t resolve old Cubase 6 dmp file.

I expect it’s a new issue to you. What happened in between when it was working and now? Any Windows update? Any plug-in update? Some permission changes?

Dear Martin, I really appreciate your help. In fact you are the only one person who replied to my problem and the only one person who I expect to get any help, please.

Well, It’s not the new issue, it happens sometimes in the past , but now my projects become more CPU “heavy” and now it’s critical issue. I even couldn’t finish mixing last three projects because of that.

There were no system or plugin updates during past 3 years.

OK. I’ve created the new topic at the “Older versions of Cubase” part of that forum. May be it’s possible to review it there. Please.
But the same projects in 9.5 version have the same issue. And I don’t know why the crash dump is absent.

Hi,

Unfortunately I don’t know, how to help. If you would reported when the issue really started, there would be a chance we could find our way caused it (what changed in your system).

Now I can’t see any solution but to try to install a fresh Windows, Cubase and all plug-ins.
