Good morning,
Let me start by saying: I have two laptops with the same operating system (Win 11), and the problem isn’t present on one, so external factors like drivers, faulty USB cables, etc. have largely been ruled out.
My problem is that Cubase Element 14 has stopped recognizing my MIDI keyboards (I have two). When I say keyboards, I actually mean the keys; for example, the physical knobs controlling the keyboard faders work normally. To make matters worse, Cubase’s virtual keyboard doesn’t work either.
The only thing I can add is that, at times, it doesn’t even recognize instruments (electric guitar, bass) connected via a sound card. Any ideas?
If you haven’t yet, you might try adding the MIDI Monitor insert on your Cubase midi track to see if the Note On data shows up? eg:
Also outside of Cubase, Midi-OX, Midiview, or other MIDI-monitoring (and test pattern generating) tools might help you see if where the NoteOn data gets lost or diverted.
Also maybe worth checking– cubase settings MIDI Filtering preferences:
Hi,
Also verify, that the MIDI Input Port is set to ‘All MIDI Inputs’, where is the on-screen keyboard routed to.
I think that elemnts don’t have this feature in the insert of Cubase midi track but i go here, in “midi port configuration” inside “studio” and i see this thing:
It seem that is always in esecution like output a command (C2 note) also if i don’t touch anything. It’ the same for the entrance (i can’t put another photo because i am a new customer).
If i disconnect Launchkey Mini MK3 keybord it stops (it’s a signal disturbance?) but virtual keybord don’t work anyway, also if for the other keybord which have a generic connection “all midi inputs” but it work with any problem on the other tablet.
The setup of the midi filter is the same of your photos.
Thanks for the support.
Hi,
This seens, you are using the given MIDI Port as a source of Mackie Control, Mackie HUI or any other Remote Device. Please, verify this in the Studio > Studio Setup.
