Had UA Apollo X4 before recently got X6, at first I couldn’t get cubase to properly detect correct inputs from Apollo X6, then somehow figured out that input labeled SPDIF corresponds to analog Input 1 and 2.
But today no matter which input name I select the sound go to cubase’s track. I tried resetting the ports and everything but it doesn’t work anymore.
Tested in Logic, every single input works flawlessly
What else can I try in cubase to get it to accept Apollo inputs ?
Not possible to fix ?
I would manually recreate/rename the inputs in Audio Connections
I already did that twice or three times. Also tried trashing the audio connections preference file. Neither helped
Anything else I can do ?
How can this be that it’s working in other DAWs but not in cubase ?
I renamed the ports again, the names dont show up properly in cubase even after resetting the ports.
Could be my limited english, but…
What is “Cubase’s track” ?
Which means ? Do these ports appear in the Input Routing dropdown list of a given audio track inspector ? If so, do you get sound, when monitoring it ?
Again, are all these functional ?
Could you post a screenshot of your Studio > Audio Connections > Inputs panel, after having used the Expand All button and showing the inputs available in the dedicated dropdown menu list ? Something like this :
I got it to work by completely reinstalling cubase
For those who have the same issue. I found one reason why this could happen. If you are on a mac:
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone
and make sure Cubase is enabled. Otherwise, macOS blocks all audio inputs.
This worked for me! What a weird setting!
It’s to ensure you explicitly give access to your microphone to apps as a security measure so that one doesn’t unknowingly provide apps access to potentially sensitive data (e.g. “whack-a-mole” installing Sub7, etc back in the day).
