Cubase Elements 11 doesn't work anymore

Hi!

I have Cubase Elements 11 and I’m perfectly happy with it, except that it doesn’t work anymore.

I paid for Elements 11 so I think I should be able to work with Elements 11.

What can I do? I’m not interested in upgrades, I just want to continue doing what I always did.

Thanks!

You can contact support. Might not do you any good but that’s your only option.

  • Have you registered the program in your “My Steinberg” account?

  • Have you checked the Activation manager? Is it registered, mand activated?

  • Have you had the program licence on an USB dongle, or have you allready transfered it to the Steinberg licencing?

Why?

Your post is a bit short on information.

Cubase 11 used the eLicenser, not the Activation Manager.

Cubase 11 Elements used the Soft-eLicenser, not the dongle and it can not be transferred to the Steinberg Licensing.

Why does it not work anymore? Did you change your Windows system, or did you reinstall it?

I guess you had the Soft-eLicenser and if this has been deleted or made Invalid, it can not be restored. The only possibiliy is to update to the latest release.

Thanks

I used elements on a macbook pro, early 2013, and all of a sudden it didn’t start anymore.

I get this message: eLicencer POS Error Message, File Synsoacc.bundle could not be located in the Application Support folder.

I now have a newer MacBook and I’d like to use it on that one.

Ok, this sounds like you just need to reinstall the eLicenser Control Center.

There is no way of getting the eLicenser working again, unless you have the USB dongle. You can find all information in the link I’ve posted above.

I never used a dongle. I’m a total nitwit, and I really don’t understand what you say above. I’m very sorry. I just bought this program, and it worked fine, without dongle. Than, some month ago, it didn’t work anymore. Very sorry: I’m not English and very, very, very, a-technical. I do know how to click on a program, and rthere it ends. Please talk to me as if I’m stupid.

I do have a Download acces code from November 3th 2020

And I updated to 11 on November 13th 2020. I still have those emails

Ok, so with Cubase 11 Elements there was a licensing system named eLicenser. There were two alternatives, one used a dongle and the other used some license data stored on your disk. This was called the Soft-eLicenser and this what was used with cubase Elements.
These “soft data” are digitally signed and can’t be transferred to another machine, they are locked to the machine where it was generated initally.

Since Cubase 12 this licensing system was changed to a system that is activated online, called the Steinberg Licensing.

The only possibility on your new machine is to buy the update from Cubase 11 Elements to Cubase 15 Elements (or a higher release like Artist or Pro).

These codes are one-time codes, they are not valid after they have been used once.

So I bought software that is now unusable? I find that very, very disturbing. Is it really the only option? I can’t afford the update now.

Yes, the update is just 49,99€ and it releases you from the old eLicenser.

This change has been documented since 2022.

for me, a very poor and very ill but very creative musician, “only” 49,99 is not possible. I have to eat.

I really can’t believe this is really happening. Only 5(five!) years ago I paid more than €100,- and now I have to pay another €50,-??? When will that stop? I wasn’t informed I had to pay for this software to only keep working. I don’t need updates, I just need this to be wiithout additional payments, is this strange? Do you all find this normal?

I’m sorry about this, but i’m only telling you the facts. The only chance could be a contact to support. Here in the user forum no one can help.

Good luck and all the best.

Ok thanks. Sorry, I know you’re just the messenger. I would be ashamed of myself if I asked money for something and it was unusable in 5 years. I’ll use garageband.

Where do I find Win11 Display Configuration on my MacBook?

You don’t. Think this guy must have posted to the wrong thread.

Some things have changed after five years. Also your hardware as you mentioned above.

This should also result in a new version of the operating system wich might be unsupported with your old version of Elements.

Not considering the fact of the license problems you stuck in…
