Hello, I just upgraded to Cubase 12 from 11 and absolutely nothing works. It will load randomly, not load, freeze, not recognize my UR22C, not recognize my licenses. Nothing. Cubase Elements 11 was running perfectly on my machine before this. I don’t understand why it is this bad and totally unusable. I did a fresh install of absolutely everything and still getting the same issues. Please help

Your post is kind of a mess and makes it difficult to figure out what the problem might actually be.
You don’t even mention your operating system. Is that part of “everything”?

I figured it out. Apparently Cubase Elements 12 doesn’t play well with discontinued vst instruments that came free with Cubase 11. I see now that Steinberg is moving to a “pay for everything” on their entry level software so that it forces new users to upgrade and spend money.
It’s deleting the preferences folder that reinitializes the daw, not reinstalling – which simply will read the same bad prefs and not solve the issue.
How so?
don’t mind me. I just miss Prologue haha. I only used HalionSE3, Prologue, Groove AgentSE and Padshop Pro. SE3 is no longer available, all that is included in Elements 12 is a very basic library for Halion, Prologue is gone, Groove AgentSE 5 works fine and Padshop Pro is now Padshop 2 for a $45 upgrade.
If you are on Windows it will still function. There’s a thread on the forum that tells how to restore it.
