Hi,
Has there been any word from Cubase on this?
Once launching cubase elements 13, I will get 403 forbidden.
I have allowed it in windows firewall. What could be causing this problem?
Sucks having bought it and it not working…
Best,
William
Hi William,
Sorry to hear about your issue but this is likely due to a firewall issue. I believe there are several similar topics that have been reported on the forum.
That being said, you can turn off the news panel by disabling Preferences / General / Show News in Hub.
Cheers,
Armand
I remember seeing a similar issue back in an older Cubase version. Solution back then was to simply update the eLicenser Control Center, maybe try that. Just run the Steinberg Download Assistant and it will automatically update it.
Speaking as someone who is not particularly knowledgeable about the arcane innards of internet communication, I have a question: If it were a server error would it not affect everyone, and not just a few?
I have the same problem after downloading Cubase 14 Elements to my Mac mini M1 running Mac OS Sequoia 15.1. As I understand it, earlier posts indicate this problem was going to be dealt with by Steinberg but that was months ago. Is there going to be a Cubase 14 update that resolves the issue? Also, you give instructions for turning off the news panel which will get rid of the message but assuming the message has meaning, doesn’t doing so leave the software functionally impaired? (I am able to load an Elements project from the past but am nervous to actively use the software with the error message showing.)
I am getting the same problem after installing Cubase Elements 14 Trial - this week. I temporarily turned off “Show News in Hub” - which inhibits this error display, but stops me from the news feed from Steinberg.
I am not impressed.
UPDATE: I was disappointed to get no responses from Steinberg and decided not to purchase Cubase although I am a very happy user of Dorico notation software by the same company.
Sorry to hear.
For anybody still interested:
Switching off the News section for the hub will make the problem go away.
There is no negative impact on Cubase otherwise. Instead of reading the News one can go to the Steinberg website and will find the same information there.
For what its worth: When I install a Cubase the first thing I do is switch off the News section.
I can understand your inclination, but I think I would rather have the news showing up. Otherwise I will likely forget to go to the website to check for new news.
To each their own, that’s why the news can be switched off so easily.
You are not interested in old news, are you? ![]()
No, I don’t need old news. And I am not interested in getting marketing offers. But version updates, etc. are a different matter.
