I’m using Cubase Essential 5 on a Mac with Snow Leopard. My usb audio interface is the ESI U46XL. I installed Cubase and first it worked fine, but then after I restarted the program, it was just silent when using the U46 ASIO Driver (it plays, but silently, and meters are off). Since then the program only produces sound when I switch to internal speakers.
I had this same problem too with an older version of Cubase together with the U46, on my Windows computer. Everytime I disconnected the U46 it was like this, but then after I reinstalled the driver it worked fine again.
But since there are no drivers to download for MacOSX I really don’t know what to do. Any suggestions?
(This U46XL is a pain in the ass, it always gives troubles, inpredictable errors. I wouldn’t advise it to anyone…)
