Cubase for Live Stream - How?

Hi Cubase Forum,

Newbie/intermediate Cubase user here.

I work in a church and I’ve been thinking of using Cubase as a mixer to mix in the box for livestream audio.

However, I can’t wrap my head around how to setup Cubase to behave in a way where if I solo-ed a specific track, the solo-ed track would be reflected through my monitor speakers but the output to the livestream would not be affected.

Any tips, help, suggestion is TRULY appreciated.

Blessings,
Aiden

Someone else may chime in with a different answer but I just don’t see how you can do that.

Where are you wanting to pick up the stream…in the same computer or you just want to output mix to a pair of hardware outs and the monitor bus to another?
The latter will definitely work, I think the former too but you’ll need third party software to pick up the stream.
The way to solo without affecting the stereo mix would be to use Listen in the control room instead.

Hello and welcome.
If you have Cubase Pro the easiest way to do what you like is use Control Room.
You can define an output bus in audio connections. Chose the audio output that goes to the live stream device

Then for the control room you connect a monitor bus to your monitor speakers/headphones.
Now you can use the Listen bus from Cubase Pro to listen to a single or several tracks without affecting the output of the livestream signal.

Don’t use the solo feature, though.

Very useful information that I may need in the future :+1:
