When i try and open Cubase the Cubase box appears on screen as always and says initializing eLC but it then gets stuck and nothing happens. I’ve updated the elicence software from the control centre and also restarted computer but i still can’t open Cubase. I’ve had Cubase 6 for a couple of years now and never had this problem. I used it a few days ago and it was fine so don’t know why it’s doing this all of a sudden. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Does eLC show you the Cubase 6 license?
yes but it’s ok i’ve sorted it out. I found a solution to this on this website under troubleshooting. It looks like the problem was a corrupt preference file. Basically i initialised the preferences by typing the following into the “Run” command prompt: %appdata%/Steinberg
On the screen that then appears i then changed the Cubase 6 folder name to xCubase 6 which then hides this folder. Then when i start Cubase again then a new preferences folder is created.
