The problem I’m having has been going on for a long time, through multiple versions of Cubase, and is getting frustrating to the point of giving up.
Hi everyone,
Every time cubase starts and asks me which audio driver I want to use during startup (I imagine that happens when it thinks a change has been made to available audio devices), when I choose my audio interface - Audient iD44 MK1 - Cubase freezes and I get the mac’s spinning color wheel forever, until I force close. Cubase only manages to load if I choose Built-In Audio in this dialouge. If I do that, and then try switching to my audio interface on the new Cubase 15 startup hub, the same thing happens - Cubase hangs. The only way past this is loading with Built-In Audio, loading a project (which sometimes also hangs and freezes during the loading of the tracks in the project), and then changing the driver via the Studio Setup menu. Even in this case, when switching, sometimes Cubase hangs.
This makes every begining of a working session frustrating and much longer than should be.
I’d really appreciate your help with this.
I’m on a M1 Max Macbook Pro with 32GB RAM, and plenty of free disk space both on the internal drive and my connected external ones. I’m on MacOS Sequoia 15.7.3 (24G419).
I couldn’t find any crash reports related to Cubase in the Console.
Kind Regards,
Yuval.
